Access Control System Philippines

An access control system (ACS) is a security technology designed to manage and control the entry and exit of an individual or object in a residential, business or commercial property. Its primary function is to identify and authenticate the credentials of an entity trying to access a specific area. An ACS may be set up to provide security to a single door, or a network of doors, depending on the need and facility. Its benefits are many, from preventing intruders and restricting public access to hazardous areas to traffic and user activity monitoring.

As a recognized provider of access control systems in the Philippines, Hitec International supplies different types and parts of ACS, including:

  • Controller – Acting as the control panel, the controller is responsible for keeping user data and matching provided credentials against this data to verify an individual’s identity. It also controls the barrier’s locking mechanism, allowing entry once an authorized person requests access.
  • Reader – An access control reader is a device that reads the information on an access card. It is typically mounted near or on the barrier being controlled. There are several types of readers based on its identification technology such as a barcode, magnetic strip or computer chip.
  • Smart gates – Such gates can be electronically locked or unlocked remotely via wireless technology such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Depending on the expected traffic and crowd conditions, smart gates may also be installed with a keypad or telephone entry system.
  • Barriers – Access control system barriers are responsible for controlling the entry, exit and traffic flow of individuals, even vehicles, in indoor and outdoor private properties such as parking spaces. Barriers include sliding gates, turnstiles, boom barriers and road blockers.
  • Peripherals – Hitec International offers a range of access control system accessories, from internal peripherals such as reader panels and extension and satellite boards to external peripherals such as digital keypads, electric locks and card readers.
  • Software – The choice of software for access control systems can make or break user experience and convenience. With software options such as DDS’ Amadeus 5 and 8, users are able to co monitor and control unlimited doors, gates and networks in varying security levels.
